Limpopo Marula Festival Media Launch

Ten years after it began with a mere 500 people in 2006 when it was launched, Marula Festival is to date an enormous brand to be reckoned with. The Festival is also part of government’s priority of rural development. Over the past three years, the Festival has attracted more than 30 000 revelers from most parts of the country including South Africa’s neighbouring SADC countries.

The town of Phalaborwa has been chosen the permanent home of the Festival because of its tourism profile and proximity to other major tourist destinations including the Kruger National Park within the Great Limpopo Trans-frontier Park, which includes Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
