Lilizela Awards: call for judges

South African Tourism (SAT) is inviting embers of the tourism industry to form part of the adjudication panel for the third Lilizela Tourism Awards.

The awards recognise and celebrate tourism businesses for excellence, for their contribution to South Africa’s global competitiveness, and for growing tourism’s contribution towards GDP and job creation.

The following awards will be handed out at the nine provincial awards ceremonies as well as the national award ceremony, taking place in September:

Indaba matchmaking tool sets up over 900 meetings

The Indaba Business Matchmaking Programme, an online diary and matchmaking system, has already scheduled more than 900 meetings between buyers and exhibitors for Indaba 2015.

With fewer than 60 days to go, this service provides delegates with a platform where they can view and select companies they would like to meet, and confirm their meetings before the tradeshow starts on May 9.

SA Tourism targets growth from Japan

SA Tourism will continue to build on interest expressed by the Japanese market by activating a new campaign, hosting buyers and media for Indaba 2015, and organising its annual trade workshops in Tokyo and Osaka.

South African Tourism’s office in Japan launched a series of deal-driven campaigns to encourage Japanese travellers to experience South Africa as a leisure destination through offering various tour packages to destinations such as Cape Town, Pilanesberg and Johannesburg.

Speakers unveiled for pre-Indaba bloggers conference

South African Tourism will host a pre-Indaba bloggers conference on May 8, which will include both local bloggers and those representing a number of important international markets.

The event aims to give the tourism trade the opportunity to gain insight into how making use of bloggers can benefit their business.
