Marula Festival 2011-A Success Story For Limpopo

Mar 1, 2011
Limpopo Marula Festival 2011The Town of Phalaborwa was abuzz with visitors from all over the country and beyond for 2011 Marula Festival that took place from 19-26 February 2011. The town with its 1233 beds, was fully booked whereas Hoedspruit, Kruger National Park and Tzaneen also received an over-flow of bookings on the last two days of the festival (i.e. 25th & 26th February 2011).

Encouraging news is that most of the municipalities also attended the fevent this year, while in attendance from our SADC partners included representatives from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Mozambique.

This is clear evidence that  the event is indeed growing in leaps and bounds as a brand. It is envisaged that the festival will attract many people even beyond SADC boundaries. The Limpopo Mukumbi Industry PTY (Ltd), which continues to grow, has presently registered nine Mukumbi Co-operatives and they also reaped benefits from the festival.
