LTA Hosts Boeremusiekjol To Boost Tourism In The Province

Mokopane-Doorindraai Dam, one of the Limpopo Tourism Agency’s (LTA) Wildlife Resorts, was a hive of activity when ganised a music festival called Bosveld Boeremusiekjol for its guests, who were resident at the dam from 01 to 03 November 2013.

This truly marked the commencement of the festive period when the province will be welcoming a number of people for various reasons including visiting friends and relatives (VFR) as well as for religious reasons.

The festival is part of celebrating various cultures in the province as Limpopo has more than three cultures still staying together in their original form. It was important to initiate this type of event as most of the dam resorts in the province are utilized by this market. This is to further encourage people particularly Afrikaners in the province to continue supporting these resorts and tourism in general. This is a very important segment in tourism and they continue to make tourism tick in the province.

The acting CEO of LTA, Mr. Fixon Hlungwani said, “We are very excited about this festival as this is what we said we would do in an effort to grow tourism in the province during the launch of our three year Domestic Umbrella Marketing Campaign. I must say this is the beginning of the festive period and we wish to urge all our people and the market locally to continue touring the Limpopo given many unique offerings we have”. Hlungwani also vowed to organize a similar event soon in Sekhukhune but to have these type of events annually to encourage people to tour their provinc
