Polokwane invites Bulawayo to showcase tourism

May 31, 2014

The Polokwane Local Municipality in Limpopo has invited its Zimbabwean counterpart, the Bulawayo Municipality, to the local annual show to showcase its tourism and economic capabilities.

The South African National Defence Force and South African Police Service are among the institutions exhibiting their products at the local show grounds.

A representative of the Bulawayo Municipality, Brian Hlongwane says they are focusing on trade opportunities between Zimbabweans and South Africa.

Hlongwane says they want to introduce the city of Bulawayo to the people of Polokwane.

He says Bulawayo is part of Polokwane and they are show casing the centres of attraction in terms of tourism sites where people can visit and investment opportunities available in the city.

Meanwhile, the Polokwane Municipality has acknowledged that this year's show has not been well marketed.

Municipality's Manager of Tourism and Economic Development Moipone Segooa says “I think in the years to come we will have to just ensure that we improve in the relationship and the marketing part of the annual show.”
