People on the Move: Tintswalo appoints new executive chef

Tintswalo Safari Lodge in Limpopo's Manyeleti Reserve has appointed Executive Chef, Johan Christiaan Kriek. Kriek has more than eight years’ experience as a chef. “I am here to take Tintswalo Safari Lodge to new levels when it comes to new and exciting ways of cooking and presenting food,” he says.

Kriek specialises in traditional cooking with a fusion twist. “Some people say it’s risky; I say that is what being a chef is all about.”

Fancourt has announced the appointment of Georgie Davidson as CEO. She is taking over the reins this month from Kerrin Titmas, who is moving on after five and a half years to pursue new challenges.

Davidson’s career in the hospitality and tourism industries spans 20 years. She joined Fancourt in September 2013 as food and beverage manager and five months later was promoted to resort manager before her latest appointment as CEO. She has completed a diploma in Hotel Management and also held positions including Food and Beverage Manager at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe as well as Conference Manager and General Manager at Tourvest.

Campi ya Kanzi in Kenya has joined the Hand Picked Africa portfolio. Kate Coleridge and Sacha Craig from Hand Picked Africa will be marketing Campi ya Kanzi.

The Kenya Airways board has appointed Mbuvi Ngunze as the airline’s new MD and CEO. He replaces Titus Naikuni, who is expected to retire at the end of November after 11 years at the helm of Kenya Airways. Before his appointment, Ngunze was the Chief Operating Officer for the airline.
